- ➤ Gas prices in Ohio increased last week as regular fuel reached an average of $2.69 per gallon on Monday — up from $2.54 per gallon the previous week. The state average dipped 14 cents since last month and remains roughly 3.2% below the national rate. Mansfield News Journal

- ➤ Flu activity remains high in Ohio as the new super flu variant drives increased doctor visits despite a slight drop in hospitalizations last week from 1,956 to 1,383. The CDC advises getting the annual flu vaccine & practicing good hygiene to help prevent the spread. Mansfield News Journal

- ➤ Mansfield Christian beat Crestline 48-34 on Jan. 17 using strong team defense that kept the Bulldogs off the scoreboard in key moments. The Flames now lead conference play and will face rivals such as Mansfield St. Peter's in upcoming games. Mansfield News Journal
- ➤ Clear Fork Colts defeated Marion Harding 80-31 last night as Ava Boccio scored a career-high 27 points and Eliana Pelkey set a personal mark with 17 in a game that saw a record-tying 32-point quarter.
