COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Residents across Richland County made over 6,500 Valentine cards for foster children in a fourth annual card drive organized by Richland County Children Services in partnership with the Mansfield United Lions Club. The cards will be delivered by Valentine’s Day to offer love and hope.  Mansfield News Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Clocks will spring forward at 2 a.m. on Sunday, Mar. 8, when daylight saving time begins in Ohio — pending state and federal legislation could soon make the change permanent. Astronomical spring starts on Mar. 20 while meteorological spring begins on Mar. 1.  Mansfield News Journal

  • High school girls basketball tournaments have set brackets with games starting Feb. 17. Mansfield Senior Tygers will travel to Norwalk on Feb. 19 while Mansfield Christian Flames host Buckeye Central; district championship games are set for Feb. 28 at local schools.  Mansfield News Journal
  • High school sports results from the past week show local teams gearing up for postseason tournaments.
