COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging is accepting nominations for the 2026 Outstanding Senior Citizen Award until April 3. The award will honor volunteer seniors from nine counties who have made significant community contributions.  Mansfield News Journal

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Richland County leaders discussed the potential of industrial solar on the upcoming ballot+ they held a town hall on March 17 at Lexington Senior Civic Center to evaluate renewable energy options for the community.  Mansfield News Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Mansfield City Council approved legislation to annex 112 acres along the I-71/Ohio 39 interchange to help bring a Buc-ee’s Travel Center and about 200 new jobs. Richland County will review the proposal on March 19 and a final council vote is set for May 19 (Mayor Perry said).  Mansfield News Journal
