- ➤ The Ohio AgriBusiness Association will host two Golf for Scholarships outings to raise funds for the OABA Educational Trust, which awards over $45,000 in scholarships for agricultural education. The early outing will be on June 11 at Deer Ridge Golf Club in Bellville and the later outing will be on August 13 at Shelby Oaks Golf Club in Sidney — events open to golfers of all skill levels. 1812Blockhouse
- ➤ Teachers at Madison Local Schools have protested outside a board meeting at Madison Middle School wearing red as they have been without a contract for 230 days while waiting for a fact-finder's recommendation in four to six weeks. The board approved a $1,950 stipend for wrestling coach Bryan Mosier, a $200,000 donation for turf replacement, and a $3,000 monthly contract with Rockmill Financial Consulting—moves made after lengthy discussions and public comments. - ➤ Richland County high school students will showcase their skills at the EmployMEpalooza job fair on April 2 at the Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center at 890 W. 4th St. in Mansfield—faculty and mentors will help prepare resumes as local employers meet students in a reverse job fair format. - ➤ Tuesday, Mansfield City Council heard Safety-Service Director Keith Porch detail the Blue Envelope Project—designed to help police communicate better with autistic drivers—and said the program will launch April 1 with several law enforcement agencies. The council also approved a $250,000 grant to restore the 144-year-old Vasbinder Fountain and passed orders for demolitions, road repairs, well water main replacements, and a donation for the Liberty Park bathhouse renovation project.
