The Rigby House at 240 Park Avenue West was built about 1897 for the Rigby family—known for their cigar business—and shows a mix of Queen Anne and Classical Revival design, including a curved front porch with paired columns and an original slate roof.

It later served as an office and was listed on the National Register in 1987, standing as a historic reminder of Mansfield’s manufacturing past.

Seniors at the Lexington Senior Civic Center took a self-defense class on Wednesday afternoon organized by Trustwell Living Mansfield Place to learn safety tips—teachers Renata and Gary Music showed how to protect against attacks and advised on purse and environment safety.

A follow-up class will be scheduled so they can practice these skills further.

The 2025 Chamber Expo held Thursday at the Richland County Fairgrounds attracted a large crowd—local business owners, contractors, and community leaders networked—showing strong local interest in future projects.
