  • The Renaissance Performing Arts Association announced a free musical event on April 13 at 3:00 p.m. at the Renaissance Theatre Main Stage in Mansfield that will feature the U.S. Army Field Band and Soldiers’ Chorus performing This We’ll Defend to honor the Army’s 250th birthday—tickets are free but reservations are required.  1812Blockhouse

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Downtown Mansfield Inc. invites the community to attend a public meeting on April 10 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at its office at 128 N. Main Street — the meeting will present details about the $7.4 million Main Street Improvement Project including plans for traffic conversion, improved safety, and beautification, with a Q&A session for residents to share their input.  1812Blockhouse

SPORTS NEWS

  • Three Richland County boys basketball players earned Division VII OPSMA All-Ohio honors from the Ohio Prep Sports Media Association, with Plymouth's Jarrett Burrer, St. Peter’s Dmoni Lentes, and Lucas' Zac Winters receiving the awards for their season performances. Burrer averaged 17.2 points and 10.5 rebounds as he led his team to a sectional championship—Lentes and Winters earned honorable mentions and district honors for helping their teams achieve key wins.  Mansfield News Journal
  • Three Richland County boys basketball players earned Division VI OPSMA All-Ohio honors from the Ohio Prep Sports Media Association. Crestview senior Justice Thompson made first team, Tyson Ringler earned honorable mention, and Mansfield Christian’s Davion Mack received third team honors — each recognized for a strong season.  Mansfield News Journal
