- ➤ Families in Mansfield can join several Easter egg hunts in Richland County—today, events at the Dog Warden’s Shelter and local churches offer free hunts and photo sessions with the Easter Bunny. Additional activities on April 12 and April 19 include egg drives, breakfasts, and potluck dinners at various local venues. Mansfield News Journal
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A new law signed by Gov. Mike DeWine will stop suspending driver licenses for unpaid fines and fees starting Wednesday, allowing the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles to work with local courts to reinstate licenses. The BMV will send letters with instructions on how to get a new ID and update information as drivers regain their driving privileges. Mansfield News Journal
- ➤ Business owners along Main Street have supported the improvement project (18-month plan costing $19.5 million) that began with water line installations even though parking is limited and mornings are slower. City Engineer Bob Bianchi said the water line work is expected to take 90 days before further streetscape updates start as part of efforts to improve pedestrian access and two-way traffic. - ➤ Officials are urging county residents to check their voter registration for the May 6 Primary and Special Election. The registration deadline is Monday, April 7 and the Richland County Board of Elections office at 1495 W. Longview Ave. is open until 9 p.m. + voters may update their information online. 1812Blockhouse

- ➤ The METRICH Enforcement Unit partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration and local police will host a Prescription Drug Take Back event on April 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at five locations in Richland County (one site is in Mansfield) where only pills disposed in a plastic or ziplock bag will be accepted.
