Richland County Park District will host a Birds & Breakfast Bird Walk at Fleming Falls on April 19th at 8:00 a.m.—held at 2294 Fleming Falls Rd in Mansfield—where bird lovers can enjoy a guided walk to see spring migrants and join a breakfast gathering afterward.

A 21-year-old man was arrested on Sunday for attempted murder after he stabbed a man in the head inside an apartment on Koogle Road in Mifflin Township during a mental health call; he fled by running across I-71 during a foot chase before being captured by highway patrol and sheriff deputies—a $100,000 bond was set and the victim was taken to a Mansfield hospital before being moved to Columbus.

Ohio's wild turkey season will soon begin as youth hunters in Mansfield can participate on April 12 and 13 with a youth hunting license + permit, while adult hunters in the South Zone will start from April 19 through May 18 under state guidelines.

Hunters must complete game checks by 11:30 p.m. on the day the turkey is taken to help monitor populations.

Residents and city leaders met Thursday evening at Downtown Mansfield Inc on North Main Street to review the $19.3 million Main Street project that began February 24 and will finish October 31.

The update explained the plan will work in phases—keeping one traffic lane open and preserving pedestrian access while completing upgrades like water main installations, sidewalks, and lighting.
