ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in Ohio jumped over $4 a gallon on April 28 to a state average of $4.176, with Erie County at the high end & Putnam and Mercer counties offering lower rates. Analysts say prices may not drop until later this year or 2027 amid ongoing oil market turmoil.  Mansfield News Journal

  • Pillar Credit Union is merging with Tappan Community Credit Union to open a new branch in downtown Mansfield effective June 1. The merger will expand service to more than 10,500 members, and current accounts will remain unchanged (ensuring local service continuity).  Mansfield News Journal
