- ➤ Ohio Lt. Gov. Jim Tressel visited the North Central State College Kehoe Center on May 1 to tour the facility (he discussed education with local business leaders). Mansfield News Journal
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Ohio voters can check sample ballots online from the Secretary of State to see candidates, local races and Issue 2 on a $2.5 billion bond for infrastructure improvements on the May 6 primary—early in-person voting is available May 1 and 2 from 7:30 a.m.–7:30 p.m., May 3 from 8 a.m.–4 p.m. and May 4 from 1–5 p.m., and a valid photo ID is required. - ➤ Madison Township residents will vote on a levy at a rate of 5.5 mills for fire operations on May 6 in the primary after rejecting it by 320 votes in November. If approved, the measure will add $81 per year for a $100,000 property owner—raising nearly $1.19 million annually to support firefighter staffing. Mansfield News Journal

- ➤ The Ohio High School Athletic Association released updated high school football divisions and region assignments on Thursday and moved the Ontario Warriors up to Division III for the 2025 season because their enrollment and competitive balance score now require this change.
