  • The Richland County Youth and Family Council and Richland County Children Services are hosting a forum titled 'Aging Out of the Foster Care System. What Now?' at Eisenhower Hall at OSU Mansfield Friday, May 9. Doors will open at 10:45 a.m.—a free luncheon will start at 11 a.m. and the forum will begin at 11:30 a.m.  1812Blockhouse

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Renaissance Performing Arts Association is inviting performers to submit virtual auditions for its 2025-2026 season with all materials due by May 5; applicants must send between 16 and 32 bars of a song and an optional dance reel. The call welcomes diverse talent—offering roles in productions such as The Wizard of Oz, Dracula, and She Loves Me.  1812Blockhouse

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Ohio voters have a final chance to cast early ballots this weekend before Tuesday’s election, with in-person voting available Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.+ Voters using absentee ballots must have them postmarked by Monday to be counted.  NBC4i
  • Ohio Gov Mike DeWine ordered flags to be flown at half-staff on Sunday from sunrise to sunset at all public buildings — the order honors the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service that will recognize 70 firefighters who died in 2024 and 70 from previous years. A candlelight service is set for 7:30 p.m. today, and the main service will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday.  NBC4i
