  • Mansfield Playhouse announced its 2025-26 season will feature five main stage comedies, two 2nd Stage productions and two junior shows—ticket sales begin July 1 and the season opens Sept 5 with 'Moon Over Buffalo'.  Mansfield News Journal
  • Stanley Julius Morrow grew up in Richland County as photography began in the United States and later served as a volunteer assistant for noted photographer Mathew Brady during the Civil War—he learned early methods like daguerreotype and wet plate processes—and his work is featured in a series that will continue tomorrow.  1812Blockhouse

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Kate Shannon has been named OSU's 2025 to 2026 Artist Laureate and will begin her term on July 1, leading community art initiatives across the state. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Richland County’s Crisis Intervention Team program will graduate its 34th class at noon on May 16 at the Mansfield Playhouse—over 668 law enforcement officers and first responders have completed the 40-hour training to better manage crisis situations involving mental illness.  Mansfield News Journal

HEALTH NEWS

  • Ray & Mascari Inc. recalled four Count Vine Ripe Tomatoes in clam shell packages sold at Gordon Food Service Stores in 11 states—Ohio included—after a Florida supplier reported potential salmonella contamination. Customers who purchased the tomatoes are advised to discard them, and the FDA confirmed that no illnesses were reported.  Mansfield News Journal
