- ➤ The John Krause House at 428 Park Avenue West was built beginning in 1909 with Prairie Style features—its Spanish tiled roof and broad porch mark a style not common on town streets. John Krause, a local civic leader and businessman, died on the porch on August 3, and the house later housed various businesses and became a designated historic site. 1812Blockhouse
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Voters in Lucas Local School District renewed their 6-mill operational levy Tuesday—winning 215 votes to 195—to secure an annual $961,000 collection for school expenses. Superintendent Brad Herman said the funds will pay for instructional needs, supplies, salaries and utilities to avoid an operating deficit. Mansfield News Journal

- ➤ Mansfield voters passed two 0.25% renewal levies in Tuesday's primary election—one to help pay for road work and one to fund parks, demolitions and safety services—with both receiving over 60% support.
