COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ The Richland County Foundation awarded over $8.2M in 2025 grants (with $3.6M for education) and reported more than $5M in donations last year. The announcement also detailed plans for a $25M downtown revitalization project and the appointment of three new board members after 14 historic buildings were donated for community use. - ➤ Primrose of Mansfield was named one of 21 Distinguished Communities today, and its director Allison Campbell earned Executive Director of the Year honors. The senior living community is located at 1301 Millsboro Road (a nod to care and quality). Mansfield News Journal
- ➤ Colleen Rice announced her retirement as executive director of The Domestic Violence Shelter Inc. today (she joined in August 2023), and Peggy Butt will serve as interim director on May 29 while Spherion Mid-Ohio leads the search for her successor. Mansfield News Journal
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Antonio Brent, a second grader at St. Peter's School, placed third in the Imagine Engineering Coloring Contest among 10,269 entries in Ohio. He will be recognized at an awards luncheon on June 13 in Columbus and receive a National Geographic Mega Science Lab kit (75 STEM experiments). Mansfield News Journal

- ➤ Richland County will receive $50,000 from a new statewide grant given by the Ohio Department of Agriculture to help update farmland preservation plans.
