- ➤ Mansfield is preparing for Memorial Day with volunteers placing U.S. flags (for veterans) at Mansfield Cemetery at 9 a.m. May 23, a parade starting at 10 a.m. May 25 along Main and Chestnut Streets, and a flag removal event scheduled at 10 a.m. May 30. Mansfield News Journal
- ➤ Lyra, a 9 year old pit bull mix at the Humane Society of Richland County, has been at the shelter since November 2024 after being rescued from a burned out house. Her adoption fee is $175 and visitors can meet her at 3025 Park Avenue West in Ontario during scheduled hours. Mansfield News Journal

- ➤ Danielle’s Lighthouse opened a 10-bed recovery housing site at 87 E. First St. on May 18 to provide a safe space for individuals pursuing recovery and independent living. Managed by Coleman Health Services, the project received funding from the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. Mansfield News Journal
