Mansfield is preparing for Memorial Day with volunteers placing U.S. flags (for veterans) at Mansfield Cemetery at 9 a.m. May 23, a parade starting at 10 a.m. May 25 along Main and Chestnut Streets, and a flag removal event scheduled at 10 a.m. May 30.

Lyra, a 9 year old pit bull mix at the Humane Society of Richland County, has been at the shelter since November 2024 after being rescued from a burned out house.

Her adoption fee is $175 and visitors can meet her at 3025 Park Avenue West in Ontario during scheduled hours.

Danielle’s Lighthouse opened a 10-bed recovery housing site at 87 E.

First St. on May 18 to provide a safe space for individuals pursuing recovery and independent living. Managed by Coleman Health Services, the project received funding from the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.
