- ➤ A free event at the former Westinghouse site on East Fifth Street will celebrate the site's renewal with a children's festival, volleyball tournament, skate demonstration, live music and food vendors plus a fireworks finale on June 13; local leaders and partners will provide free parking. - ➤ Margie Tasseff, the longtime president of iHeartMedia Mansfield and Marion, is retiring effective June 1 after nearly 40 years in radio (she led the Mansfield market for 15 years). The company praised her for building strong community ties and local radio programs. WMAN
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Registration is open for Mansfield Safety Town, a program that teaches kindergarteners essential safety skills at the former Spanish Immersion school (240 Euclid Ave.) with sessions on June 8–12, June 15–18, June 22–26, June 29–July 2, and July 6–10, July 13–17. - ➤ New exterior-mounted cameras are now on Mansfield School buses to record drivers who fail to stop when children board or exit today. Mansfield Police Sgt. Paul Lumadue & City Schools supervisor Josh Cantu said the cameras will help improve bus safety. Mansfield News Journal

- ➤ Seventeen offenders graduated from the drug court program at the Richland County Courthouse on May 20. Mansfield News Journal
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Richland County NAMIWalks event will take place May 30 at Marshall Park and include a 5K run, free one-mile walk, food trucks, bounce house, and other family activities. A new partnership between the Community Health Access Project and NAMI Richland County aims to boost mental health services (registration is online). Mansfield News Journal
