  • Mary Emerson, aged 20 and transitioning out of foster care in Mansfield, received a Jeep from New Haven Auto Sales (replacing her old bicycle) to help her begin an independent life.  Mansfield News Journal
  • Mary Emerson (20) from Mansfield, who recently aged out of foster care, was gifted a Jeep Patriot donated by New Haven Auto Sales. She said the vehicle will help her gain more independence.  Mansfield News Journal
  • North End Community Improvement Collaborative announced that the North End Farmers Market will open on June 12 at the NECIC Urban Farm, 311 Bowman St. in Mansfield and will run every Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. through Sept. 25 — offering local produce, homemade goods, food trucks and family-friendly activities with various payment options.  Mansfield News Journal

HEALTH NEWS

  • Andrea Ross, a clinical educator at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital, said 3,000 Ohioans wait for an organ donor—while 17 Americans die daily for lack of donors. Jill Summerton received a matching bone marrow transplant from a living donor and hopes more people will learn about organ donation to save lives.  Mansfield News Journal

  • Clear Fork lost 11-1 in a six-inning run-rule game to Perkins yesterday in Willard, ending a season that saw them finish 17-9. Coach Gabe Kennedy said the Colts made five errors and witnessed several seniors play their final game.  Mansfield News Journal
  • After beating Millbury Lake 9-1 in Wednesday's Division IV semifinal at Clyde High School, Lexington Lady Lex will face Bryan in the regional championship game at 5 p.m. Friday — the second straight season the team meets Bryan after last year's 4-1 loss — as they aim for a regional title.  Mansfield News Journal
