GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Ohio will hold a sales tax holiday from Aug. 1st to 14th when items priced $500 or less, like clothing, electronics, and home goods, are tax free while motor vehicles, alcohol, tobacco, and marijuana products are not eligible. Governor Mike DeWine announced the holiday on May 30 and said it will help families with back-to-school and household needs. Mansfield News Journal

- ➤ Lexington softball won the Division IV Regional Championship in Clyde Friday night when Makaree Chapman fired a 3-hitter and struck out 12 as the team beat Bryan 6-1 to improve their record to 24-3—earning a spot in the state tournament. The team will face the winner of the Licking Valley—Kenton Ridge game in the state semi-finals on June 4 at 10 a.m. in Akron at Firestone stadium. WMAN
