CRIME NEWS
- ➤ METRICH detectives, Richland County ASORT and Mansfield Police seized 590 grams of suspected cocaine — along with $26,752 in cash and oxycodone — at a Burns Street residence on June 11 and arrested a 49-year-old Mansfield man on drug trafficking charges, with further charges set to be forwarded to the Richland County Prosecutor’s Office. - ➤ The OHSAA board approved changes to the football playoff format for 2025, reducing qualifiers per region to 12 and giving the top four seeds a first-round bye. The new system now has higher seeded teams host the first three rounds+ the divisional breakdown remains unchanged. WMAN
- ➤ Shelby's Quinton Albert was named the 2025 Mansfield News Journal Baseball Player of the Year — Plymouth's Jarrett Burrer earned the NJ Pitcher of the Year award after strong junior seasons.
