Good morning, Mansfield.

Teachers from Crawford, Morrow and Richland counties attended Mid-Ohio ESC boot camps today to tour local industries and earn graduate credits from Ashland University.

The weeklong program featured facility visits and lunch and learn sessions, requiring teachers to present lesson plans to business representatives (a key initiative element).

Rumpke awarded two Richland County graduates $1,000 scholarships on June 25 to support their college studies.

Shelby High School’s Natalie Korbas will study civil engineering and Ontario High School’s Hayden Saxton plans to major in marketing based on their academic achievements and community involvement.

The Mansfield News Journal invites readers to vote for the Boys Track Athlete of the Year, with polls open every hour until 8 p.m. on Sunday (voting began June 25 at 3:22 p.m.).

Athletes placing 171st through 180th in this year's Richland 200 are expected to become key contributors for their teams in the upcoming 2026-27 sports season as they continue to improve.
