  • A 5-year-old child died after being left in a hot car at 55 Wood St. around 3:15 p.m. Thursday—Mansfield police are investigating the incident—and they advise parents to check the back seat to prevent such tragedies.  Mansfield News Journal

  • JCPenney is set to close its Texas warehouse around November 1—affecting nearly 300 workers—after shutting down several stores in May, and the company said only a few employees may get reassigned while its 25 Ohio stores remain open.  Mansfield News Journal

  • The Statehouse added a budget item to force Job and Family Services to simplify the process for locking SNAP cards—an action prompted by scammers who stole millions—and the change now awaits the governor's approval.  NBC4i

  • Bobby Rahal, a two-time INDYCAR winner (with deep ties to Mid-Ohio), will serve as honorary grand marshal for The Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio on July 6 and will say 'Drivers, start your engines!' as part of the pre-race ceremonies. The weekend marks the 40th anniversary of his first INDYCAR win and features nine races on the 2.258-mile road course (highlighting the event’s long tradition) with Jun Jayaraman and Paul Dentinger taking key ceremonial roles.  WMAN
