  • Catholic Charities Hope Food Pantry at 523 PAE needs cereal, canned chicken and tuna, pasta, rice, canned corn and peas, ramen noodles, hot dogs and more—donations will help support local families.  Mansfield News Journal
  • Matthew Scruggs was named CEO of the North End Community Improvement Collaborative in May and is excited to lead initiatives such as a staffing firm, a business assistance center, an elder program (and two farms) to benefit the community.   • Sam VanCura, in his 38th year, is organizing the annual Third Saturday in August comedy show at the Renaissance Theatre—featuring standup artists Ophira Eisenberg, Jackie Flynn and Rodney Laney with tickets at $35 for the 8 p.m. event.  Mansfield News Journal

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Four Ohio State Mansfield education majors are spending their summer teaching STEAM to youth ages 9 to 18 at military bases nationwide through the We Are Camps program. They lead hands-on lessons with activities like building mini roller coasters and coding robots — visiting bases in North Dakota, Colorado, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas and California.  Mansfield News Journal
  • Ohio residents pursuing teaching careers can apply for the Teachers of Tomorrow New Teacher Scholarship that will cover up to 6,000 dollars in program fees. Applicants must be fully enrolled by Sept. 30 (the apply deadline is Aug. 31) and winners will be announced in October.  Mansfield News Journal
