- ➤ Claire's filed for bankruptcy on Aug. 25 and will close nearly 300 stores as it struggles with online competition and changing shopping habits. Several Ohio locations—including stores in Chillicothe, Cincinnati, Columbus and Dayton—are scheduled to close to help the company reduce its debt. Mansfield News Journal

- ➤ Olivia Fosson, Miss Ohio 2025 and Miss Clayland 2025, is preparing to represent Ohio at Miss America from Sept. 2 through Sept. 7—she will compete in interviews, fitness, eveningwear, onstage questions, and talent rounds while promoting her message of self-worth and empowerment. A law candidate raised on a Christmas tree farm who launched her Body Neutral program and published a children’s book, Fosson received strong support from Lawrence County and plans to return for local events after the pageant. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Mansfield has installed two new electric vehicle charging stations at City Hall and Sterkel Park—making clean transportation more accessible for residents and city employees. The project was funded with a Dynegy grant and managed with PlugOp and will lead the city to expand EV infrastructure as additional funds become available—bolstering its commitment to clean energy.
