- ➤ The Women’s Fund of the Richland County Foundation will announce its 2025 grant recipients and present the JoAnn Dutton Volunteer Service Award at a luncheon on Nov. 7 at Westbrook Country Club—an event recognizing women who volunteer with local charities. - ➤ OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital is hosting an art contest for K-12 students from six counties on the theme What Does Healthy Mean to You?—submissions can be dropped off at the hospital front desk until Nov. 5. Up to 10 winners will have their art displayed in the pediatric unit and be invited to an open house on Nov. 13—Dr. Martin Hanawalt will deliver a brief speech on the contest theme. - ➤ Mansfield Playhouse is showing Dracula, A Comedy of Terrors—a spoof play mixing Monty Python and Mel Brooks styles with a cast of five and a funhouse set. The play runs at 8 p.m. on Oct. 17, 18, 24 and 25 and at 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 26 with tickets priced at $15 for general admission, $13 for seniors and $10 for students. Mansfield News Journal

- ➤ Lucas Cianflone, a Buckeye Central graduate, earned a $5,000 Sandy Mazur Scholarship for leadership and service—he is now a freshman at Ohio State Mansfield. Mansfield News Journal

- ➤ Business owners rallied downtown Mansfield Tuesday to urge City Council to vote no on Park National Bank’s plan to build a bank on the municipal lot — they claim the parking space is vital for local access. Mansfield News Journal
- ➤ Richland County’s traffic crash numbers dropped after a joint safety push by ODOT and the regional planning commission, which invested $37.1M in projects like intersection upgrades and traffic control measures. - ➤ Ontario's Lady Warriors set a record when Hattie Yugovich reached 100 career goals on Sept. 16 during senior night and Addi Pittman hit her milestone on Oct. 7 with a hat trick—milestones that show their strong play. - ➤ The Local Crossings Ryder Cup event is set for Oct. 18 at 1 p.m. at Shelby Crossings Golf Course where two-man teams from Lexington, Madison, Ashland, Ontario and Clear Fork will compete in best-ball and scramble rounds.
