- ➤ Whirlpool announced a $300 million expansion that will add 600 jobs to its Clyde washing-machine and Marion dryer facilities plus create about 5,000 jobs elsewhere in central Ohio. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Most of Richland County has not seen an official frost this fall as the lowest temperature at the local airport was 36 degrees on Oct. 10. Meteorologist Rick Garuckas said temperatures will remain too warm on Thursday and Friday—so a real frost may not come until after Halloween. Mansfield News Journal
