HEALTH NEWS

  • Richland Public Health Commissioner Julie Chaya was honored on the national 40 Under 40 list for her work in improving local health. She led growth at Richland Public Health through initiatives like Live Well Richland—an effort to boost access to preventive services and community care.  Mansfield News Journal

SPORTS NEWS

  • Lexington scored 42 of its 49 points in the first half and won 49-17 over Madison Township on October 17 as five players each scored a touchdown—showing how strong their offense was—and now they will get ready for a Week 10 game against Ashland to decide the OCC title.  Mansfield News Journal
  • In Week 9 of the 2025 high school football season, Richland County teams went 5–4 with Ontario winning 35–0 over Highland, Clear Fork beating River Valley 44–7, and Mansfield Senior Tygers losing 44–12 to Canton GlenOak. Teams now prepare for Week 10—Ontario will host River Valley and Clear Fork will travel to Galion—hoping to improve their rankings as the season nears its end.  Mansfield News Journal
  • Mansfield Christian swept higher seeded New London in the Division VI sectional championship with a strong third-set comeback and advanced to a district semifinal against Buckeye Central at Shelby High School next week.
