- ➤ Amazon will hire roughly 11,000 seasonal, full-time and part-time workers in Ohio as part of a plan to add 250,000 positions nationwide ahead of the holiday season. - ➤ Daylight saving time will end on Sunday, November 2 at 2 a.m. when clocks will be turned back one hour—bringing earlier sunsets and longer nights. Ohio lawmakers have urged Congress to make the change permanent but federal action remains pending. Mansfield News Journal
- ➤ Officials warned that if the federal shutdown continues into November, nearly 1.4M Ohioans will miss their SNAP payments starting Nov. 1 and lose access to about $263.4M in benefits with an average of $190, which may force tough choices between food and other needs. Gov. DeWine called the situation worsening while Rep. Humphrey proposed borrowing from the state’s rainy day fund+ the USDA is preparing a contingency plan if funds fall short. Mansfield News Journal
