ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Ohio officials warn drivers to slow down and use high-beam headlights during deer breeding season (peaking in November) to avoid deer crashes, as nearly 110000 collisions have been reported since 2020 near woods, streams, and fencerows.  Mansfield News Journal

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Wendy’s launched crispy chicken tenders called Tendys and six new dipping sauces, which led to product shortages—fans are upset as the Sweet and Sour sauce was discontinued. A petition with over 1,600 signatures shows that local customers in central Ohio hope for its return while Wendy’s says restaurants will be restocked soon.  NBC4i

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Mansfield Planning Commission approved a variance that lets Mansfield Speedway build a 62-foot tall jumbotron structure. The decision allows the Speedway to install a larger display for upcoming events.  Mansfield News Journal

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Data from Zumper shows that the median rent for apartments in Mansfield rose to $872 in September from $829 last year — a 5% overall increase — while one-bedroom listings went up from $675 in August to $700 and two-bedroom units saw slight changes. Overall, rental prices continue to be much lower than the state and national medians.  Mansfield News Journal

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Mansfield Christian Flames made history by winning their Division V regional semifinal match in Edison on Tuesday night with a 2—1 score that sent them to their first regional championship game. They will face Woodmore at 7 p.m. on November 1 at Frost-Kalnow Stadium.  Mansfield News Journal
