  • On Nov 27, two free Thanksgiving meals will be offered in Mansfield for those in need. The Families Without Families Community Meal will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at DLX on N. Main St.—while the Candice Williams Helping Hands Fund dinner, held in memory of Candice, will be at Friendly House on N. Mulberry St. from 1 to 4 p.m.  Mansfield News Journal
  • La LUNA is hosting Pantry Palooza today at 7 p.m. at 32 N. Walnut St. to raise funds for H.O.P.E. Food Pantry, which serves over 1,700 residents—doors open at 6:30 p.m. with a $10 suggested donation as local musicians perform across various genres.  Mansfield News Journal

CULTURE NEWS

  • World Kindness Day was observed on Nov. 13 in Mansfield as people performed simple acts like holding doors open and donating supplies. The event began in 1998—and has grown each year—to show that small gestures can make a big difference.  Mansfield News Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Ohioans enrolled in SNAP received partial payments on November 12 after the shutdown ended and will soon get full November benefits—though officials did not specify when the remaining funds will be sent. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services said households that received partial payments will have their full allotments completed while people are advised to check their accounts for updates.  Mansfield News Journal
