- ➤ Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Josiah D. Custer, age 30, was named 2025 Trooper of the Year at the Wooster post for his leadership and courteous work ethic—he graduated from Temple Christian School in Mansfield and is now in contention for district and state awards. Mansfield News Journal
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Families in Ashland, Holmes, Richland and Wayne counties now have immediate access to crisis care for youth through The Counseling Center’s MRSS program — offering free 24/7 support for those 20 and younger following Gov. Mike DeWine’s statewide expansion. Mansfield News Journal
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Ontario’s Hattie Yugovich, Clear Fork’s Ashtyn Wine, and Mansfield Christian’s Ryen Anderson were named Girls Soccer Players of the Year by the Mansfield News Journal for 2025. Yugovich scored 41 goals with 15 assists to help win a MOAC championship, Wine netted 29 goals with 18 assists to share a MOAC title, and Anderson set a record with 38 goals to lead her team to its first district win — the honors recognize their standout season. - ➤ Madison’s Randy Jamieson, Joey Walker + Clear Fork’s Kade Beachy share the 2025 Mansfield News Journal boys soccer Player of the Year honor. Jamieson had 13 goals and 20 assists, Walker scored 31 goals, and Beachy led his team with 17 goals + they earned multiple Division awards during their senior season. Mansfield News Journal
