BUSINESS NEWS

  • The Richland Area Chamber and Economic Development has announced finalists for its annual small business awards—finalists are selected in groups for businesses with 14 or fewer employees or 15 or more; Medical Mutual will present the awards at a ceremony scheduled for Dec 9 at Kehoe Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and nonprofit winners have already been named.  Mansfield News Journal

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Central Ohio gas prices have dropped nearly 38 cents to average $2.84 per gallon as refinery work wraps up and holiday travel demand eases — pointing to lower prices ahead of Thanksgiving. A survey of 500 stations showed the cheapest gas at $2.45 and the most expensive at $3.29 per gallon.  NBC4i

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Bryce Imars from the Mansfield Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol was named Bucyrus District Trooper of the Year in October — after first being honored locally, he is now in contention for the State Trooper of the Year award.  Mansfield News Journal

SPORTS NEWS

  • Mansfield locals are invited to cast their votes to choose the team expected to win the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference boys basketball championship for the 2025-26 season+ voting closes at 7 p.m. on Nov. 28.  Mansfield News Journal
  • The Shelby Whippets won a regional title with a 41—7 victory at Mansfield's Arlin Field and will play Cincinnati Indian Hill in a state semifinal at 7 p.m. Friday at Sidney Memorial Stadium; both teams are 13—0 and the winner will meet Glenville and Indian Valley in the state championship game on December 5 at 10:30 a.m.  Mansfield News Journal
  • Local fans are invited to vote in a reader's poll to pick the winner of the Ohio Cardinal Conference boys basketball championship for the 2025-26 season—votes will be accepted until 7 p.m. on November 28.  Mansfield News Journal
