  • Yesterday, Richland Gives raised $739,860 for 88 nonprofits as nearly 2,000 donors contributed + the event awarded $80,000 in prize incentives organized by the Richland County Foundation. The milestone supports local nonprofit work and draws more community involvement each year.  Mansfield News Journal
  • A young mother raising four children today needs help through the Brighten A Christmas campaign after missing other programs and having no income. Donors can give cash, checks, or gift cards at any of nine Mechanics Bank locations (case No. 10) to meet basic needs.  Mansfield News Journal
  • Low-income seniors in Mansfield can pick up free food boxes on Dec. 16 at First English Lutheran Church from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The boxes (nonperishable items, fresh produce, and cheese) are provided by the Greater Cleveland Food Bank until supplies run out.  Mansfield News Journal

  • Shoppers and art lovers visited the Mansfield Art Center Tuesday to view the Winter Market and Gallery Show (featuring local creations) in a celebration of community art.  Mansfield News Journal
  • Local musician JT Burgess from The Ohio Express has released his first solo EP today under his own label (Burgess Music Company), featuring six original songs based on his life experiences. The record is available for streaming and download via Bandcamp.  Mansfield News Journal

SPORTS NEWS

  • Yesterday, Shelby's Brayden DeVito was named Division IV Ohio Offensive Player of the Year after finishing as runner-up for Ohio Mr. Football (he shared the award with Indian Valley's Grady Kinsey).  Mansfield News Journal
  • Ontario High School senior Hattie Yugovich was named to the All-American team by United Soccer Coaches on Dec. 9 (the only Richland County player honored) after leading the Warriors with 41 goals and 15 assists this season.  Mansfield News Journal
