- ➤ Local leaders including Richland County Commissioners Darrell Banks and Cliff Mears, Mayor Jodie Perry and Doc Stumbo will judge a Christmas tree contest on Dec. 16 at 4 p.m. at Dayspring (3220 Olivesburg Road), with a drive-through holiday display open through Dec. 31. Mansfield News Journal

- ➤ Today, Theresa Sutter of the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District was honored by the Ohio Lake Management Society with the Innovation in Lake Management Award for her work in water quality education in Richland County. She leads local workshops, volunteer programs & school initiatives. Mansfield News Journal
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Mansfield Senior Tygers defeated New Philadelphia 62-52 on Friday night after a key 12-1 run in the fourth (three players scored 15 or more points). Coach Marquis Sykes and standout Kaylen Brooks helped the team start the season 4-0 in the OCC. Mansfield News Journal
- ➤ At Friday's assembly dual in Madison Township, wrestlers from Madison and Ontario exchanged techniques as state-ranked Jaxin Stancombe observed Ontario's Tyler Turnbaugh during his 138-pound match (he sought to learn new moves) while Madison clinched a 51-23 victory. Mansfield News Journal
