Charles Mill Marina will host Kid’s Day on June 14 from 10:00 a.m. to noon at Charles Mill Lake to offer boating education and free pontoon rides for local children.

The event will also include face painting, pirate entertainment, animal visits from llamas and alpacas, and giveaways from local sponsors—adding fun and learning for families.

On May 5, Springfield Township police discovered Chewy the raccoon holding a meth pipe in the driver's seat during a traffic stop on South Arlington Road and arranged for its care while contacting the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to ensure proper re-homing as the raccoon's owner faced addiction and housing challenges — officials confirmed Chewy was not exposed to drugs.
